Adult Programs:

The library presents programs each month, often with local experts, performers, or researchers.  We have had  musical programs, group crafts nights, historical programs, and travelogues.  Georgia plans these adult programs, and she would love to hear your ideas for future programs.


Patrons of Western District Library who are 18 years and older may check out family passes to Niabi Zoo, the Botanical Center, the Figge Museum, and the Putnam Museum. Check out is for up to 3 days and is on a first come, first serve basis! 

The McGuffey Readers' book club will meet on Thursday, December 12th at 9:30 in the library. Gloria Stiles will lead the discussion of the book "An Amish Christmas" by Cynthia Keller. Anyone is welcome to attend!

The Orion Page Turners book club will meet Tuesday, November 26th, 2019 at 6 pm to discuss "The World that we knew" by Alice Hoffman.

Mondays and Fridays at 10 am:  "Coffee Talks":  Enjoy fellowship.  Coffee and other hot beverages are provided.  

Read to the dogs at the library! Come on December 10th at 4 pm  to read to the Quad City Canine therapy dog group.

Back by popular demand! Gift boxes created from Christmas cards--come in and learn how to make these Christmas ornaments from recycled holiday cards! Dec. 12th at 4 pm.

Calling all travelers!  Western District Library is seeking people interested in presenting a travelogue on places they have visited. Please contact Georgia at the library if you are interested!

Technical assistance with Overdrive/Libby and E-Read -Illinois to access e-books and e-audiobooks is available Fridays from 10-11 am with Leslie. Other times, by appointment.

Nancy would like to show you how to request library items from PrairieCat, edit documents with Word, use the internet, and send email.  She is available Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 pm and other times by appointment.
