Request or renew items in person, by phone, email, or on our website. For materials beyond PrairieCat, we assist through OCLC at www.worldcat.org, exclusive to Western District Library patrons.

Special Library Items for checkout (must be returned at the circulation desk):

Museum Passes available for 3-day checkout are offered first-come, first-served, free of charge:

  • Niabi Zoo pass admits 2 adults and 4 kids.

  • Quad City Botanical Center pass admits 2 adults and their kids.

  • Putnam Museum pass admits 2 adults and 3 children

  • Figge Art Museum pass admits a family of 4

Our library is participating with Explore More Illinois! With this, patrons can use their library card to get passes, discounts, and other fun things at many attractions around Illinois! Visit https://exploremore.quipugroup.net and log-in with your library card to view which attractions are currently available!

Library Programs:

  • We offer weekly family storytime on Wednesdays from 10 -11am, designed or children 0-5 years and their adults. We also offer an annual children’s summer reading program with special activities and guests.

  • We have adult programs regularly, featuring special speakers, performers, or experts.

  • Book Clubs meet to discuss their monthly selections! ​Do you have a book club? We would be happy to order the books for your group. Just ask!

Computer/Internet Services:

  • Printing:

    • 10¢/page for black ink (computer/photocopies)

    • 25¢/page for color.

  • Faxing: $1 for 1-5 pages, 5¢ for each additional page.

  • Receiving faxes sent to our fax number: 10¢/page.

  • We offer scanning to your flashdrive or email for free.

  • Need technical assistance? We are happy to familiarize you with accessing e-books and e-audiobooks on your electronic device, using the internet, doing email, using Microsoft Word, and requesting items from the online catalog. Please call to make an appointment at 309-526-8375.
