Pen Pal Club

Looking to connect with someone new? Our Pen Pal Club is a simple and meaningful way to build connections through handwritten letters. All ages are welcome to participate.

How it Works

Getting started is easy. Just sign up in person or by phone with your name, age, and phone number. Once you’ve been matched, the library will send you a letter with your pen pal’s information along with instructions to begin your correspondence.

To protect your privacy, all letters are sent through the library. Participants’ home addresses are never shared.

Sending & Receiving Letters

You can mail your letters on your own, or bring them to the library and we’ll add the postage and send them out for you. When a letter from your pen pal arrives at the library, you’ll be notified by email so you can pick it up.

Monthly Pen Pal Meetups

We host monthly Pen Pal Club gatherings where you can come write letters in a relaxed, social setting. These meetups are completely optional, but they’re a great way to stay inspired and connect with others who are part of the program.

Not Sure What to Write?

Starting your first letter can feel a little intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. You might share things like where you’re from, your hobbies and interests, your favorite movies or music, or what inspired you to join the club. There’s no right or wrong way to do it.

We’re excited to help you make new connections, one letter at a time.
