When people think about the library, they usually picture books. And yes, we do have plenty of those — but that’s only the start. Whether you’re looking for something to do, something to borrow, or someone to help, we’re here with way more than most people expect.
Things You Can Check Out
Your library card unlocks a whole world beyond just books. Here’s what you can borrow:
Books for all ages
Audiobooks
Magazines
DVDs
Puzzles
Video games
Sensory Bins
Autism Sensory Kits
A telescope for stargazing
Museum passes (Niabi Zoo, QC Botanical Center, Putnam Museum, Figge Art Museum)
And don’t forget about our online resources! You can stream or download ebooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, interactive children’s books, and even music — all from your phone, tablet, or computer. We offer access to Libby, Hoopla, Freegal Music, TumbleBooks, and Boundless.
Year-Round Programs for All Ages
We’re always running fun and educational programs — not just in the summer.
For kids: Storytimes, crafts, seasonal events, weekly activities, Reading Dragons, and 1000 Books Before Kindergarten
For teens: A dedicated teen space, activities, and creative programs
For adults: Events like craft nights, informational sessions, and community activities
Seasonal fun: Our Summer Reading Program is one of our biggest events of the year — and it’s open to everyone. We also offer Winter Reading, and during the colder months, don’t miss our Adult Reading Program for a cozy way to stay involved.
Most programs are free and open to the public — no library card required to participate.
