Book Clubs Western District Library offers two book clubs. Both meet at the library monthly. Contact the library for the current month's selection and join a group! Orion Page Turners - meets the last Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM. Next meeting will be June 24th. The Falling Man will be discussed.
McGuffey Readers - Meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 9:30 AM. We will be taking a break this summer. Come join us in the Fall.

Presidential Library in Springfield Lincoln Bicentennial | 1809-2009 | Live the Legacy
Kick off for the Bicentennial celebration of Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday begins May 11th on Mother's Day in Lincoln's childhood home of Lincoln City, Indiana. The celebration continues throughout 2008 and ends in February 2009.

Western District Library Presents: a series of Lincoln Bicentennial presenters designed for the ENTIRE family to enjoy.
Wednesday July 30 at 10AM at the library. Brian "Fox" Ellis - Lincoln storyteller Tracing his rise from prairie state rail-splitter to America’s favorite president this blend of history and humor will attempt to disentangle the man from the myth
September 15th : 7:00 pm Central Park Bandshell Chris Vallillo - Musician The show is designed to be an interactive, accessible, program that educates as well as entertains. It covers Lincoln 's life from his birth on the big south fork of Nolan's Creek in Kentucky in 1809 through his death in 1865. It has been performed in association with the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, The Lincoln Home National Historic site and various touring exhibits including Forever Free from the Huntington Library. December 1st: time & place to be announced Abe and the Babe - an evening with the President and Mrs. Lincoln Come join the President and First Lady as they discuss the Union, the Civil War, and other events of the period.

What is it and how do I access it?
NetLibrary provides access to your library’s eContent collection. eContent is the digital version of books, journals, and database content. You can access your library’s eContent 24 hours a days, seven days a week.
You must come to the library for your initial set up and to create a password which will allow you to "check out" your selections. From that point forward you may access netlibrary from your home computer in order to "check out" netlibrary items. If you have questions call us at the library and we'll be glad to help you!
